About Chinese to Hindi Translation

Chinese to Hindi translation is increasingly used in trade and travel between the world's two most populous countries. Mandarin Chinese, written here in Simplified characters, is spoken by over a billion people and has no alphabet, while Hindi, spoken by about 600 million people, is written left to right in Devanagari. Indian importers visiting Guangzhou, Yiwu and Shenzhen, Chinese engineers and managers working with Indian factories, students of medicine and engineering, and Buddhist pilgrims following the route of Xuanzang to Nalanda all need simple, accurate phrases. A useful cultural fact is that Mandarin is tonal, so ma can mean mother, hemp, horse or scold, while Hindi has no tones but distinguishes aspirated sounds like kh and gh. Hindi output includes simple romanization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Simplified or Traditional Chinese?
The Chinese on this page is Mandarin in Simplified characters, used in Mainland China and Singapore. Taiwan and Hong Kong use Traditional characters, so the same sentence can look different there even though it is spoken the same way.
How do Chinese tones affect translation into Hindi?
Tones matter only when you speak Chinese. Chinese characters do not show them, but Pinyin does, for example 你好 (Nǐ hǎo) and 谢谢 (Xièxie). Hindi has no tones, so the Hindi output needs no tone marks, only clear vowels and aspirated sounds.
Which Hindi form of "you" does the tool use?
Hindi has three levels: आप (aap, respectful), तुम (tum, friendly) and तू (tu, very intimate or rude). The tool uses आप by default, which is right for business meetings, suppliers and visitors.
Can I use it for business with Chinese suppliers?
It helps with basic words like 样品 (sample) and 价格 (price), shown in the Business and Factory Visits section. For contracts, specifications and payment terms, have a qualified human translator confirm the final wording.
Why do some Hindi words look like English?
Hindi uses English words like ऑर्डर (order), कोटेशन (quotation) and होटल (hotel) in daily business speech. They are written in Devanagari, so Chinese users can pronounce them like the English original.
Is Chinese to Hindi translation free?
Yes, it is free, needs no signup and works in any phone or desktop browser.
