Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Chanakya text show as strange symbols?
Chanakya is a non-Unicode font. It stores Hindi as Latin and accented characters and only draws them as Hindi when the Chanakya font is applied. On a website, in WhatsApp or on a computer without the font, you see text like "ÖæÚÌ" instead of "भारत". Converting to Unicode fixes this permanently.
Where is Chanakya font used?
Chanakya was widely used in Hindi newspapers, magazines and DTP work in PageMaker and CorelDRAW. Many old press files and printed-document sources are still in Chanakya.
How do I convert Chanakya to Mangal?
Mangal is a Unicode Hindi font. Paste your Chanakya text here, copy the Unicode output and paste it into your document. It will display in Mangal or any other Unicode Hindi font.
Are ि and र् placed correctly?
Yes. Chanakya types the short i matra (ि) before the consonant and the reph (र्) after the syllable. The converter moves both to their Unicode positions, so "çSÍçÌ" becomes स्थिति and "·æØüR×" becomes कार्यक्रम.
Why do my numbers change?
The Chanakya font draws the keys 0-9 as Hindi digits (०-९), so they convert to Hindi digits. English digits in Chanakya sit on other keys and convert back to 0-9.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. It is free, needs no signup and has no text limit.
