About Bengali to English Translation
Bengali to English translation connects one of the world's most widely spoken languages with the main language of international communication. Bengali (Bangla) has well over 200 million speakers, making it one of the most spoken languages on earth. It is the national language of Bangladesh and the main language of the Indian state of West Bengal, and it is also an official language of Tripura and is widely spoken in Assam's Barak Valley. Bengali is written left to right in the Bengali-Assamese script, an abugida descended from Brahmi. Consonants carry an inherent vowel, vowel signs attach above, below, before or after the consonant, and many conjunct letters (juktakkhor) are formed by combining consonants. The script has no capital letters. A good Bengali to English translator has to read these conjuncts and the often silent inherent vowel correctly, which is why full sentences translate better than isolated words. Bengali has a deep literary and political history. The Language Movement of 21 February 1952 in Dhaka is commemorated worldwide as International Mother Language Day. Rabindranath Tagore, who wrote the national anthems of both India and Bangladesh, won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913, and Kazi Nazrul Islam is regarded as the national poet of Bangladesh. Bengali also has a clear gap between its written and spoken forms, and its pronouns change with the level of respect: apni (formal), tumi (informal) and tui (very intimate). People use Bengali to English translation to read news, official documents, messages, recipes and family correspondence, and to follow Bengali films, songs and literature. Large Bengali-speaking communities live in the UK, the USA, the Gulf countries, Malaysia and elsewhere, so this pair is also used for study, immigration and business paperwork and everyday communication.
